Semana Santa 12th - 29th of April
Semana Santa as the Easter week is locally called is an important event in Malaga. There are colourful religious processions which are carried out through out the town starting from the town’s historic centre. Beautiful paintings and sculptures of Christ sitting on well decorated thrones are carried in these marches both during the day and the night. Most remarkable is the procession of Nuestro Padre Jesus el Rico which is carried out on Wednesday.
Malagueñas Contest 1st of April - 31st of July
To recognize, preserve and honour the local talents a contest is organized in Parque Del Oeste in the month of April and July by the city council. This is a medium to encourage the folk songs and dances where the participants have to compose and perform in front of the audiences. This contest is a good place to enjoy rustic country music.
Bull Fighting 1st of April - 31st of October
Plan a visit to Malaga during the full fighting season to enjoy the game of death against nerves. The bull fighting season usually starts from April and ends in late October. To enjoy the bull fighters fighting the fierce bulls in traditional finery plan a trip to Ronda. In Ronda "corrida goyesca" is held in September where bull fighter dresses in costumes as shown in 18th century carvings.
Seville Feria 20th - 26th of April
The arrival of spring is indicated by the heavily scented orange blossoms and jasmine aroma lingering in the Seville’s atmosphere. The official fair ground is known as “Real de la Feria” and is divided into three main areas, first covering the parking space, second containing the amusement park and third housing the main attraction small tents pavilions called casetas.
