Malaga Cathedral.

This popular religious historic site is better known as the "Cathedral of the Incarnation", another name for Malaga Cathedral is "La Manquita" meaning the little one armed lady, the reason for the name is due to the presence of only one tower, although two towers were planned initially. The construction of the limestone building commenced in 1528 by Pedro Lopez and Diego Siloe and was built above a Muslim mosque, the building wasn't completed until 1782 and it consequently establishes a lot of other types of architecture such as Gothic, Renaissance facades and Baroque towers due to the presence of numerous architects who worked on them. Malaga Cathedral has 13 chapels, each one unique and dedicated to a saint or an event, the altar is made of marble and has important sculptures of the "Annunciation" and the patron saint of Malaga, San Ciriaco, the interior of the cathedral has a presence of Renaissance and baroque sculpture.

Visiting Hours: 10am - 12.45pm & 4pm - 5.30pm and is closed on Sundays.
